R.J.'s area of special interest is in helping patients suffering with conditions such as Pain and Chronic illness. R.J. suffered with Ulcerative Colitis for many years, and this is what led him to Chinese Medicine initially. You can read more about his path to recovery here. He became a Doctor of Chinese Medicine to help adults and children recover, heal, and/or manage similar chronic health conditions. Do to his own experiences with a stubborn, chronic, and difficult auto-immune condition, he is very understanding and empathetic to others undergoing and seeking help for their health problems. He understands the frustration of trying many different options, seeing many different Doctors, and Health Practitioners and not finding answers or solutions.  He is very determined to find a solution and is very systematic in his approach, starting with a very thorough diagnosis process to formulate a plan of treatment for each of his patients. Many of his patients are referred by past and present Patients, Medical Doctors, and other Allied Health Practitioners. He is a registered Acupuncturist, and Chinese Herbalist with AHPRA and AACMA. He is also a highly regarded QiGong Therapist and Teacher, Feng Shui Consultant, and an initiate and Tao Shi 道士 of Tai Shang Men Taoism.

Chinese Medicine is a complete medicine with a very long and rich history. Chinese Medicine treats the patient, not the disease. It has its own diagnostics, and terminology, that is used to understand complex physiological interactions and imbalances unique to each individual patient. Treatment focuses on restoring balance. Pulse reading is considered one of the most important methods in determining an accurate diagnosis. It can clearly expose conditions and imbalances a patient is suffering from. This helps to formulate a way to address and balance these with Chinese Medicine. R.J. is highly skilled in Chinese Pulse Diagnosis, and in most cases, he will find out what is wrong and be able to tell you.

R.J. owes much of his clinical results to years of mentorship with phenomenal practitioners, physicians, and healers. His most influential mentors being Daniel Deng “Master of distal, & microsystem Acupuncture" (Master Tung lineage, Abdominal, Scalp, and Ear). R.J. apprenticed under him for 4 years. Wang Fan “Master of the Zhen Dao – needle knife” at the National Tibetan Hospital Beijing. Medical QiGong Doctor Xu Hongtao at XiYuan Hospital - Beijing China. Wei Qi Feng - ZhiNeng QiGong Master from the Medicine-less hospital, China.

R.J. has undergone extensive teaching and clinical instruction by Richard Teh-Fu Tan in the renowned balance method, Dr. Wei Chieh Young in the Master Tung system of Acupuncture, Zhu Scalp Acupuncture by it's creator Ming Qing Zhu, and with Jimmy Chang (Wei Yan Zhang) known for his extremely accurate pulse diagnosis and his Taiwanese fang jia fang herbal formula strategies.

R.J.’s treatments consist of distal and microsystem acupuncture based on the principles of the I Ching, Chinese Herbal Medicine, ZhiNeng QiGong Healing, QiGong Exercises, Food Therapy, Chinese Astrology, and Feng Shui.
